    MEETING OBJECTIVES:

  • ●  Minutes were approved as corrected.

  • ●  Treasurer’s Report was accepted as presented and placed on file for review.

    OLD BUSINESS:

    Art Shows

  • ●  Art Shows​--​Middle School​ Art Show comments (Coal City had their own show). Judging was

    1-3 overall regardless of grade. Next year, will do 1st place per grade get a bigger ribbon and supplies. Give out strip ribbons for 2nd and 3rd place. Focus on certificates for art complexities. People’s Choice still given. ​High School​ Art Show as of now Seneca has brought in artwork. Bob will contact MCHS art teacher. Ray will contact CCHS. Minooka will be Becky. Caroline will contact GSW. Rose will contact Newark. Rose will order ribbons (our small ones disappeared). ​NHBS​ Caroline will do the CAR (CAC) because of a technical issues. Really need to promote. Deadline is March 17 to enter. Needs to be promoted. ​Rose motioned to have Cal’s make generic special invitation 250 postcards with inexpensive cardstock. Becky second. Motion carried​.

  • ●  The EXibit Members Show​--There were 10 members involved. Gala was not well attended. Postcards were sent. People came in from postcards but no one from Lasalle and Ottawa came even though the date was changed.

  • ●  Art Organizational Shows​--The Awakenings mental health poster needs to be a jpeg or PDF. Rose and Bob will work on it. Show is in April.

  • ●  JAS​--no news

  • ●  Warrior/Vet Show​--no news Community Organizations

● #GiveGrundy​--The poster needs to be completed. Need high resolution photos to be sent to Eric Fisher.

● The group discussed the St. Francis University intern situation. There may be another individual who can assist us in developing the space.

New Business:

  • ●  Board​--March 11 Grundy County Foundation and GEDC invited to the dinner. ​Caroline motion that we pay for two people to attend. Ray seconded. Motion carried​.

  • ●  Video​--Ray proposed a video be made by Steve Rogers of the facility. Ray will find out a cost, and suggested the group try and get a grant. Ray said the EXibit needs to have a You Tube channel.

  • ●  Chamber of Commerce Family Fun Fest​--Names and information was collected to give out two passes for a Brush n Brew. Jim Hitchcock won two free passes.

  • ●  STEAMing Into the Great Outdoors​--March 14 from 9-1 pm thumbprint on a paper with Illinois natural flora and fauna. The group decided to participate if volunteers can be found. Discussion will be had in the messenger.

  • ●  Blackout Curtains​--Ray proposed to purchase curtains and curtain rods. The group discussed to wait until there are funds.

    Action Items

 

● There was a discussion of putting a koosie together for sale after more funds are secured.

  1. Caroline to create a simple teacher contract.

  2. Do the same for music lessons.

  3. Caroline to create a rental form.

  4. Ray to make Imaginarium logo for youth programming (use Artie?).

  5. Ray to provide logo for Veteran’s Show.

  6. Ray to make a logo for OMN.

  7. Ray to provide Caroline structural components for roof.

  8. Caroline will make a contract for the art shows from art groups so details are understood between

    The EXibit and the group.

  9. Caroline to make sure membership winners get cards.

  10. Caroline to email upcoming events every Friday.

  11. Caroline to get all artwork on Instagram.

  12. Rose and Caroline to meet to finalize program funds allocated and spent by program after

    an event.

  13. Rose to put together posters for CCM, Imaginarium, Veteran’s art show, and Fall JAS

    when logos done.

  14. Ed to work on video sound system for OMN.

  15. Ed to set up forms for Veterans and Fall JAS show.

  16. Ed add Cornfest and LAF link to website.

  17. Ed to work on a postcard using origami.
